The Scientific Council and the Social Council of the Talayotic Menorca Agency (TMA) met this morning, June 28, in the plenary hall of the Consell Insular de Menorca (CIM) to renew their members. In addition, the two representatives of each of these bodies on the Governing Council were chosen; the director of the TMA, Antoni Ferrer, presented the management plan; and the president of the TMA and conseller of Cultural Affairs, Joan Pons, explained what the future Interpretation Centre of Talayotic Menorca, which will be located in Ciutadella, will be like.
The Agency is responsible for the management, conservation and dissemination of the assets that make up Talayotic Menorca, in order to ensure their transfer to present and future generations of Menorcans. The CIM created the Talayotic Menorca Agency following the recommendations of the 2017 report of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites). The highest decision-making body of this entity is the Governing Council.
The Scientific Council is made up of institutions and individuals of recognised prestige, and is responsible for programming and supervising the agency's activities in terms of study, research, training and scientific dissemination. It also participates in the preparation of reports for UNESCO and provides advice on matters within its competence.
Another important part of the organisation of the Talayotic Menorca Agency is the Social Council, which is made up of representatives of the different political parties, business and cultural organisations on the island. This council must facilitate the integration and participation of all the island's public administrations and the most representative public, private and social initiative entities in the field of historical and cultural heritage management. Its function is to act as a vehicle for social and citizen participation.

- From the Social Council: Bernat Pons (titular); Joaquim Pons (titular). Azucena Jiménez (substitute); Sergi Marí (substitute).
