21 FebThe Menorca Branch of the Official College of Architects of the Balearic Islands has organized a series of conferences dedicated to Architectural Heritage. The aim of this series is to provide intervention tools and facilitate knowledge on how contemporary architecture contributes to the understanding of historical heritage, both through the rehabilitation of heritage buildings and, especially, through the construction of interpretation centers that help disseminate the values of historical heritage.
With this series, the organizers seek to join the celebration of the designation of Talayotic Menorca as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For this reason, two sessions with double conferences and two full-day events have been scheduled, where interpretation centers will be explained and discussions will focus specifically on centers or sites that have been recognized as World Heritage. The events will analyze in detail the solutions adopted for the musealization and dissemination of their unique elements, with newly constructed facilities and contemporary architectural works integrated into the meaning and values of World Heritage.
