In this course, you will learn all about the concept of world heritage and the entity that promotes this recognition, UNESCO. Talayotic Menorca is now a World Heritage Site. The story behind the candidacy will be a central part of this course to learn first-hand what Talayotic Menorca is.
Linked to the inscription as a World Heritage Site, we have an outline for Talayotic Menorca’s management. The Consell Insular has created the governing body (Talayotic Menorca Agency) and a roadmap to follow (Talayotic Menorca Management Plan). These are essential tools for the future of Talayotic Menorca.
Finally, a representative of Antequera dolmens, inscribed in the World Heritage List in 2016, will explain their experience and the effects that this distinction has had over their territory, in preperation for what could be Talayotic Menorca’s future.
A field visit to Torre d'en Galmés is planned for the last day.
