16 FebFirst day of the campaign to clear and clean the talayot and circle of Torrenova d'en Lozano organised by the Societat Històrico Arqueològica Martí i Bella and the Consell Insular de Menorca through the Talayotic Menorca Agency. Run by volunteers from the GIBET Project (Grupo de Intervención sobre Bienes Etnológicos - Ethnological Heritage Intervention Group), participation is open to all citizens.
The settlement of Torrevella d'en Lozano is divided between two estates, so that a small part of the site is located on the Torrenova estate. Although it is not among the components declared World Heritage, it preserves some very interesting structures. It is not prepared to receive visitors, and most of it is covered with vegetation. This is the case of the talayot and the other remains inside Torrenova. Because this talayot has an internal chamber and the roots of the vegetation could endanger its stability, these cleaning campaign has been organised.
