Talayotic Menorca Agency delivers a highly positive assessment of its participation in the 27th edition of the Tarraco Viva festival, held in Tarragona from May 23 to 25. Once again, Menorca’s presence was acknowledged by the festival organizers, with words of appreciation from the director himself, Magí Seritjol, who praised the
quality, coherence, and originality of the Talayotic Menorca project.
A team of 18 people—including technicians, communicators, and collaborators—enabled a broad, cohesive, and high-impact participation. This initiative is part of the international promotion strategy for the Talayotic Menorca UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With this year’s program focused on the Roman plebeians, Talayotic Menorca offered a
complementary perspective that connects the Talayotic past of the Balearic Islands with the historical context of the ancient Mediterranean.
The participation was structured through various formats, including a dedicated stand at the “Roma en los Museos del Mundo” fair, along with multiple reenactments, workshops, and talks.
The Talayotic Menorca stand, located at Camp de Mart, served as a meeting point for hundreds of visitors. Educational materials were distributed, products inspired by the island’s prehistoric culture were promoted, and interactive spaces were activated, such as children’s workshops, a painting area, an interactive photo booth, and a display of archaeological elements.
Among the most prominent activities were the “Funditores Baleares” reenactment, featuring live slingshot demonstrations, and the new audiovisual production "Entre el cel i la mar", which combined traditional craft demonstrations with immersive videomapping—receiving an excellent response from the audience.
The talk “Gastronomía menorquina a través de los tiempos”, once again led by archaeologist Borja Corral, also stood out. The session included a tasting of cerveza Talaiòtica by Grahame Pearce and queso de Maó, reaffirming the strong interest in Menorca’s material and culinary heritage.
