The Talayotic Menorca Agency and Radio Menorca-SER are launching today, 19 July, the first chapter of the podcast ‘Talayotic Menorca’, a series in Spanish in
ten chapters about the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The aim is to continue the dissemination of Talayotic Menorca among the general public.
A first series of five podcasts was published in Catalan in 2023, which are now being re-edited in Spanish, updating the contents. All the chapters will be
available free of charge on the Cadena SER website, Ivoox and Spotify, and will be published every Friday. The broadcasting will be completed with an on-air broadcast on the programme ‘Hoy por Hoy Menorca’.
The first episode ‘What is Talayotic Menorca?’ explains the basic features of a World Heritage site that many people are still unaware of. The second episode goes deeper into this point and opens the expectation of knowing the following chapters that review the singularities that make Talayotic Menorca a unique case in the world.
There are also two chapters that are a journey through time and two other episodes that dwell on the past and present archaeological activity that has helped us to expand our knowledge of our Talayotic culture. The last two instalments focus on the journey of Talayotic Menorca from the moment, 18 September 2023, when it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the challenges for the future and its management.
