Entre Illes project, "Among Islands", is an initiative promoted by the Friends Association of the Manacor History Museum, with the support of the Consell Insular de Menorca.

This month we interview Marta Blanco Noel, an archaeologist recently elected president of Amics del Museu de Menorca. She is also a member of the Menorca Archaeological Project where she serves as laboratory manager and field technician.

Excavation work revealed one of the building’s interior spaces, where archaeologists documented a well-preserved stone pavement, a long bench built against the wall, and a monumental sandstone corner suggesting the existence of an upper floor.

The Torre d’en Galmés Interpretation Centre has been helping visitors better understand Menorca’s most iconic Talayotic settlement for nearly twenty years. Throughout this time, its contents have been progressively updated and improved.

The campaign focused on two main objectives: the study of human remains found inside a dwelling and the investigation of the hearth, the core of prehistoric domestic life.

Archaeological excavation works have recently begun at the main talayot of the Torre d’en Galmés settlement. 

A conference organised by Amalia Pérez-Juez and Octavio Torres Gomariz, supported by the Consell Insular de Menorca, bringing together researchers from various fields of archaeology on 11 and 12 July.

The Healthy Youth and Culture Programme, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Consell Insular de Menorca through its Education Service, has enabled more than 2,000 students from the island to discover Menorca’s historical heritage during the 2024–2025 school year.

The event will take place on 4 and 5 July in Ciutadella’s Plaza de la Catedral, with the participation of some Menorcan authors, bookshops and organisations, including the Talayotic Menorca Agency with its publications.

Talayotic Menorca Agency's director participated in a high-level forum focused on the Ribeira Sacra’s bid for UNESCO World Heritage status, offering insights from Menorca’s own successful nomination process.

The draft stewardship contracts with owners and managers of archaeological sites are presented.
